To start season 2 of Overwatch 2, all players had their competitive ranks reset. This has been deemed the "Soft Reset" and their plan is for this to happen every season. The biggest problem with this, it didn't work right at all. As of right now, silver players are seeing Diamonds and Platinums, Gold players are seeing Masters and Grandmasters, etc.

Blizzard needs to correct this by season 3 or more people will stop playing their game.
