It’s a fairly original premise that probably didn’t do any favors for Air BnB’s in general, but this movie goes in a wildly different direction than I expected it to, and leads to one of the best horror movies of the 2020’s. Barbarian is all about survival instincts, we all have them, not a lot of characters in horror movies have them, but this movie really tackles that theme and trope head on, and the differences in instincts between men and women.
