The money mentioned between levels are based on your score, so I had to try getting as low score as possible. The sum mentioned in the ending is always the same, no matter how much money/score you earn.
I started by showing the secret dedication screen, which you get by entering any combination of Up, Right, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Left, Left, Left, Left, Left before the title screen.
Then I used the secret "JAY BACAL" and "TONY LAU" items, which gives you 99 Lives and Unlimited Health, which helps greatly in evading points.
I also used the History Eraser button in Madness II to reset my score.
