The Retro-Futurist VR Game 7 Years in the Making: SuperHyperCube
Nearly 7 years ago, experimental gaming collective Kokoromi created 'SuperHyperCube,' a lo-fi puzzle game melding anaglyphic stereoscopy and DIY head-tracking to simulate proto-virtual reality. With the phenomenal reemergence of VR, the Quebec based game designers redesigned their underground game for Playstation's mass market launch into VR. We met with Kokoromi days before the launch of 'SuperHyperCube' to discuss the game's neon-laden, retro-future aesthetic, the origin of their collective and the future of VR.
