The Revenge of Shinobi [ Sega Genesis ] - Intro & Gameplay
Feeling inspired but not wanting to make too many, here's a set of three more videos!
This is, Shinobi II: The Revenge of Shinobi
I find that, this game seems a bit confused of what it want to be. It's all about taking your time and attacking at the right time and predicting enemy placements, but it's also interested in having impressive action. It sorta wants to be Shinobi but still different..
Regardless, The Revenge of Shinobi is a great game that may be frustrating hard but still rewarding the more you play it. There's several versions of this game because trademarks and copyright can be quite the bitch. Some versions include the Terminator, Spider Man, Batman, while other versions remove Batman and adds Rambo, and Godzilla is in most versions, except one where it's the original Godzilla's bones from the first movie.
It's interesting that this is like the second Sega game I know of that has some differences between versions. The first was Moonwalker where some versions have Thriller, and others don't.
One thing that needs to be mentioned is that the image of Joe Musashi in this game is very heavily influenced by the Japanese TV Jidaigeki series called Shadow Warriors ( 1980 ), specifically the character Hattori Hanzō played by Shin'ichi ( Sonny ) Chiba.
