Sid Meier's Pirates! [ Playstation Portable ] - Intro & Gameplay
So after nearly breaking my thumb or possibly breaking something IN my left thumb yesterday ( 1st of April, appropriate day ), I promised I'd record a fresh set of these kind of videos again while I prepare some proper videos,
This is Sid Meier's Pirates!
Yarr. I know very very little about Sid Meier's Pirates. I never played the original, nor did I play any of the other ports. In fact the only reason I even know about this game ( as it wnet below my radar ) was through Grimithr's playthrough of the Sega Genesis version. Now I may have seen it once when I was very little and were home at my father's friend who introduced me to a lot of PC games, but I don't remember.
This game seem to betray some things that made the older games popular, while also adding some new stuff... But I have to say, this game.. It reminds me a heck a lot of Freelancer ( A space game ). The way you interact with towns and people, if I didn't know any better, I'd say it was probably made by the same people or something... If those people joined Full Fat ( lol ) or Firaxis, well, I wouldn't know about that.
This game also had a PC port and is available from Steam.
The clip I used in the video is from James Clavell's Shogun from 1980 featuring the character John Blackthorne ( refered to as Anjin-san, translates to Pilot as in navigator - Played by Richard Chamberlain ) and Lord Toranaga ( Played by Toshiro Mifune ), dancing together to a sailor song.
- This is the one the main character in Nioh is based upon as well.
