His hit song I believe I can fly is still played todays and brings positive memories to millions.. In addition, his musical series trapped in the closet was uniquely powerful and imaginative. And lets not forget his remix to ignition which turned on more than just cars. However ever since the 1990s he was accused of sexually abusing young fans. He actually got indicted in 2002 on child pornography charges but was acquitted in a 2008 trial. that all changed though after aa 2019 documentary called surviving R Kelly resulted in the case being reopened. He was eventually convicted in Chicago, but is awaiting sentencing. In Brooklyn new York he was also convicted and sentenced to 30 years for racketeering and trafficking.
