But long gone are the days when people would idolize the one kid in their school who could perfectly play Through the Fire and Flames on expert difficulty. Rhythm got their start in the 90's with Parappa the Rapper, Beatmania, and Dance Dance Revolution, blew up in the 2000's with Guitar Hero and Rock Band, and burnt out just as quickly. While we still see new releases, like Just Dance and Beat Saber, the heyday of the rhythm game is now over. But, one cannot ignore their impact, or importance on the gaming landscape.
