The Rock The Paper & The Scissors gameplay consists of our hero running along the train, defeating baddies using rock, paper and scissors instead of a pistol. But it's no game of chance: you are given a sequence to memorise, then you have to beat it in time to the music!
The Rock The Paper & The Scissors controls are the arrow keys - left to show rock, up for paper, right for scissors. You need to play your move at the same time as the enemy shows his on the beat of the music. It's Crypt of the Necrodancer meets Stop the Express, basically.
The only complication in The Rock The Paper & The Scissors gameplay is that later baddies regenerate health in time to the music, so you have to whittle them down quickly without mistakes. Plus, if you lose a round of RPS three times, it's game over.
The Rock The Paper & The Scissors game is the original Ludum Dare prototype version of the upcoming Rhythm Ranger game. This video is a full playthrough of the game jam prototype.
