"The Rust Forge" is a new map by JPal utilizing progs_dump 3.0 mod by dumptruck_ds​. Here JPal chose one of my personal favorite tracks, so I happy its being used. It is a beautifully designed map and the bonus "nail-based" enemies provide a fun challenge! I am not as big of a fan of respawning items; I think the map can be ammo balanced to get the player using different weapons. If JPal wanted to make a mini-episode out of this; this map could be split into two easily after the first arena, then perhaps a couple new maps added. I found I had to run past enemies for the second part of the map anyway, so this could be an excuse to adjust the gameplay there. It could be called "The Rust Forges" episode! Probably just me trying to extort more good maps out of JPal haha!

This is being played on FTEQW using some of its advanced lighting options. Here I am using my bandither shader for FTEQW (and other engines), to reduce the color output to 15-bit, like the original Quake 64. I enable a bit of dithering to it, not the same as the N64 "dither filter", but it's a bit sharper like the PS1 dithering.
