Welcome to our playthrough of Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness! This is a sort of director's cut for the game Castlevania (known commonly as Castlevania 64), the first 3D Castlevania game on the Nintendo 64. It adds 2 new characters, adds brand new levels, cuts old levels, and remixes old levels. Honestly, it might as well be a full-blown sequel.

Castlevania 64 is known by fans as being one of the worst Castlevania games, especially when compared to its Playstation 1 counterpart (Symphony of the Night). Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness fixed a lot of the problems of this game, and is considered by many who have played it to actually be pretty good. However, that's not too many people, as many people skipped it due to disliking Castlevania 64, and on top of that it came out towards the end of the Nintendo 64's lifespan. So, it remains one of the Nintendo 64's rarer games.

Brendan's played Castlevania 64 (and liked it) but has never played this version. Rob has never played either. So how does it hold up now? Has it aged poorly, or is it a hidden gem? Let's find out!
