GPUs and video cards are known to be in short supply, but this video details more about how they've become so valuable that companies now trade and barter using GPUs as currency.

The GPU shortage has been the ongoing storyline in PC hardware for close to a year. Today, we’re going to look at what happens behind the scenes before the GPU gets to the retailer and why stores and system integrators try to package e-waste with it. We’ll be going through some vocabulary, like “attachment” (or bundles/combos) and “allocation,” including discussion of why objectively bad combos and undesirable components get forcefully bundled with video cards. We're mostly trying to help illustrate some common practices and explain how some basics of distribution and supply allocation works, but there are some industry-specific concepts included in this video. The main takeaway, as a consumer, is just to be wary of bad bundles (like Newegg's Shuffle often features).
