This Year One video is a blast from the past in more ways than one! Originally streamed in July 2020, this session features me and my pal Ben (‪@ps_garak‬) logging into a fan-run server for The Sierra Network (TSN), later known as The ImagiNation Network (INN). We create characters, explore the virtual world, and play a few classic games — just like it’s 1993 all over again.

For those unfamiliar, The Sierra Network was an ambitious online multiplayer service launched in 1991, long before modern MMOs or social gaming hubs. Created by Sierra On-Line, TSN/INN featured a variety of games — like Red Baron, LarryLand, and The Shadow of Yserbius — along with chat rooms, clubs, and customizable avatars. It was a virtual hangout decades ahead of its time, and thanks to dedicated fans, it still lives on today.

Join us as we relive the golden age of dial-up gaming and try to remember how anything works. If you’re a Sierra fan, an online gaming history nerd, or just want to see two friends poke around a piece of ’90s internet nostalgia, hit like, drop a comment, and subscribe for more retro gaming adventures!

ABOUT ME
I'm Jess (he/him), a lifelong gamer and retro variety streamer from West Virginia. I mostly play adventure games from the '80s and '90s (think King's Quest and Monkey Island), but I also stream newer titles, bad licensed games, and other random stuff that grabs my attention. I stream on Twitch every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday night around 9:30 p.m. Eastern. Drop by and join the fun sometime!
