THE SILENT SEA Season 2: Will Netflix Give Korean Sci-Fi Drama with Gong Yoo & Bea Doona a Chance?
Hey, guys! The jaw-dropping recent success of Squid Game has definitely increased interest in Korean shows. And with an obvious shortage of sci-fi shows this year, it made the release of The Silent Sea even more welcoming. Did the new Netflix Original from South Korea tickle your taste buds? Is there going to be Season 2? OK, Netflix has not yet officially renewed The Silent Sea for Season 2, but the probability is VERY high. The first reviews are great, on most part, averaging 7.5 out of 10 on IMDb. Most viewers found the series thrilling, exciting and binge-worthy. There’s some criticism about plot holes and slow dialogue, but it’s not hard to fix for Season 2. The chemistry between Gong Yoo and Bea Doona is undeniable. By the way, both actors are not new on Netflix: 42-year old Gong Yoo is in Squid Game, and 42-year old Bea Doona stars in the political historical thriller series Kingdom. The Silent Sea is based on the same-name 2014 short film directed by Choi Hang-yong, who also directed the new show. The first season was very decent, and with that ending, we definitely expect, and even demand, a continuation. How about you, guys? Do you want Season 2 of The Silent Sea? Stream it or skip it?
