The Simpsons: Hit & Run - Full Playthrough (No Commentary)
Note: Some cheats were enabled through Lucas' SH&R Mod Launcher to skip certain missions that usually would be impossible to beat through normal means. This is only for the ability to experience the whole game, at least for me. The mod launcher also supports Xinput controls as well.
Today, we're going WAAAAAY back in time to 2003, and playing through what is, in my opinion, one of the best licensed Simpsons games, as well as licensed games, of all time, "The Simpsons: Hit & Run"! The game is ran off of its native PC port and some mods were used to either skip certain missions deemed too difficult, or improve support with Xinput controls like the Xbox Series X (of which I used).
The game is a direct sort-of sequel to The Simpsons: Road Rage, made by Radical Entertainment (the people who made Road Rage) and published by Vivendi Universal Games and FOX Interactive. The game is centered around a wacky typical Simpsons story where wasp cameras enter Springfield and begin recording the everyday lives of the town's citizens, only for it to be later revealed in game to be the work of aliens, who are hosting an intergalactic TV show, and, well... chaos ensues over the town.
The game takes pieces of The Simpsons: Road Rage and takes heavy inspiration from the "Grand Theft Auto" series, which focuses on stealing cars and driving at breakneck speeds, all the while avoiding the cops. This game was, of course, made to be more lighthearted in tone, with far less acts of murdering people. This game eventually became a sleeper hit amongst the people who played it, and it would eventually rise its way and become the best game to ever used the esteemed Simpsons license.
NOTE: This game has long since been abandoned by its developers, as they intend to make no profit or money off of it. This game has become sort of 'abandonware', and physical copies can now only be bought second-hand from sites like eBay (the devs get no money from these sales). There are a lot of sites like My Abandonware that have free downloads of the game, but I would strongly avoid doing and just buying a physical copy from a reseller on eBay or some other site. The game has seen no official re-release on any platform, and it would be great to see this game be put back on sale.
