Nightmares have been plaguing Charles Reed, a Navy sailor and World War I veteran turned private investigator, after tragedy and disappearance of USS Cyclops a ship where he served. Reed is contacted by Professor Johannes van der Berg who might be able to help Reed with his visions, so he packs his stuff and travels to Oakmont. It doesn’t take long till Reed is entangled on to secrets and oddities that plague the Oakmont. Murders, flood, and animosity between Innsmouthers and Throgmortons are just the tip of the iceberg.
The Sinking City is an action-adventure game I set on Oakmont, a fictional city in Massachusetts during 1920s. Story is inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft and is filled with Lovecraftian mythos. Game is open world detective game, and it is played from third person perspective.
The Sinking City was released in 2019 for PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch. In 2021 it was also released for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
Frogwares is developing a continuation to Sinking City. Sinking City 2 is set to be released in 2025 and it takes place in 1920s city of Arkham.
