The Surface - Northwest (Aberration)
Its entrance is located within the easier portion of the map in the northwest, marked by a green spore field. After making it past and to the end of the passage it is a vertical climb to a ledge that open to The Surface. Across the daylight's flaming ground there is an corrupted purple Obelisk among spiky and irregular rock forms. During daylight the ground is literally on fire, on top of a heat debuff there is an exposure debuff. This is among one of the easiest locations to find oil, outside of harvesting it from Dung Beetle, Trilobite, or Seeker's rare drop.
Found mainly in the bio-luminescent and radioactive areas, Rock drakes make for a major threat and highly sought after tame.
Upon seeing a player (Using a tamed rock drakes camo ability will prevent this unless in possession of their egg), they will instantly attack them, and are able to pursue them even up walls and in the air.
On top of this, they are very often found in large spread out groups which makes them hard to escape.
The Rock Drake's most distinguishable feature is its feathers. These aid in its glide ability, and are most likely used as a display to rivals or possible mates. In the presence of reapers or nameless, these feathers will frill and their holographic tips will glow.
Atop their heads, Rock drakes bear a small bat wing-like crown. This may aid their hearing in darker cavern areas where they cant see as well.
Rock drakes bear a thick layer of colourful scales running down their whole topside. Again, the colourful arrangment may be related to mating and/or rivalry.
In their camouflaged state, all that can be made out of a rock drake is a faint blue line going around its edges.
Draconis Obscurum is a magnificent example of a predator that has flawlessly adapted to its environment. It is surrounded by cavern walls, so it developed powerful claws with which to scale them and colorful plumage on its anterior limbs that let it glide from perch to perch.

But most dangerous of all? Its active camouflage, which lets it fade into the shadows and stalk its prey undetected.

It has even adapted to the Nameless and The Reapers. Draconis' feathers will raise in warning when they are near, and this massive elegant lizard seems to be the Reaper's only natural enemy.

Domesticated
With its unparalleled mobility and undeniable power, Draconis Obscurum is a highly sought after mount. Survivors who successfully bring one back from its nesting grounds will suddenly find these caverns much easier to traverse, and that their enemies have become their unsuspecting prey. Even its saddle and rider are affected by its active camouflage, so a Survivor's enemies will never see them coming.
