For this Halloween special series of reviews, I'll be going over The Thing quadrilogy, each one either inspired by or otherwise a questionable direct sequel, starting with the 1951 film loosely based on the original novel "Who Goes There?" from 1938. This first film is certainly a product of its time in more ways than one, but it's not half bad as long as you know what you're getting into.
