Part two of this year's The Thing quadrilogy now leads us to the most famous entry of the bunch: 1982's The Thing directed by John Carpenter. Honestly, I was a bit scared to review this one because I wasn't quite sure if I could express my opinions on the movie well enough, but I think I managed to pull it off in a way that I'm satisfied with. This one is far more direct of an adaptation of the original novel, 1938's "Who Goes There?", and it also takes some inspiration from the 1951 film "The Thing From Another World", but John Carpenter's vision and use of effects makes this movie really special. It might be controversial that I'm only rating this film as low as an 8/10, but there a few too many things here and there that irked me and it didn't quite grab me as much as some of my other favorites. Even so, this is an amazing movie that I highly recommend and a hallmark of the horror genre.
