Here we are at the start of another Namco series look, this time we are looking at the Babylonian Castle Saga which begins with 1984's The Tower of Druaga. The Tower of Druaga is one of the most influential games of all time, leading to games like Ys, Hydlide, and the original Legend of Zelda. You play as Gil as he attempts to ascend 60 floors filled with dangerous slimes, knights, wizards, ghosts, and dragons. Each floor (mostly) has a treasure that can help Gil out (or be required to beat the game). However there's no hints as to how to get the treasures to show up. Arcades would have a communal journal which would allow people to share their notes, discoveries, and techniques. Everyone would band together in order to conquer this beast. What an incredible game and its influence is still being felt to this day with games like the Souls series.

We're playing this via the Nintendo Switch version of Namco Museum, which features a hint guide for all the floors and a more convenient continue option.
