Strider (2014) - Playthrough
0So here we are at the end of our Strider saga. We've seen Capcom's original arcade game and it's NES brother. We've seen the UK take the reigns with a "sequel" only for Capcom to make a proper sequel themselves. So now it's time for the US to take a crack at it. Enter Double Helix Games fresh off season 1 of the Killer Instinct reboot and right before being picked up by Amazon.
So Double Helix's Strider game is a proper metroidvania of sorts. You've got backtracking, collectable upgrades that act as keys to doors, those upgrades also enhance your attack and movement capabilities, etc. This one has lots of call backs to the original Arcade and NES games, from remixed music to returning characters, to even iconic poses. Strider even has MVC moves like his launcher and ouroboros move.
