Our new Aperture Desk Job didn't get off to the best start, but Grady has a big idea to try.
Think it's safe to say we didn't make the best first impressions at Aperture Science last time, if we want to keep our Inspection Desk we need to keep our head down and/or do something impressive. Fortunately* Grady has an idea. We here at the Aperture Laboratories Testing and Calibration Department did make something and frankly it's hilarious. Our Aperture Science Turret is a thing of beauty and chaos and Cave Johnson might like it if he can just see it for himself, SO, Grady set up a meeting with him!
We set off with The Aperture Science Turret Mark 3 but we're attacked by the Appliances department who seem to have borrowed our idea and weaponised washing machines. After a long shootout which hopefully didn't hurt the mantis people and their now space age society, we head on up to Cave Johnson. At this point Grady makes a confession: he didn't book an appointment X_X In fairness though, it turns out Cave Johnson hasn't been seen in ages, just as in Portal his actual status is totally unknown, time to find out I guess.
The short version is: Cave Johnson got very sick so they turned him into a giant head. Since then he's been alone and he wants to die :(( He likes our toilet though, straight up calls us geniuses. We do him a favour and try to use our turret on him to end his suffering, it doesn't really work though because he has a hard metal head inside the outer clay one. Hmmm. We eventually do so much damage to the room though that he falls through the floor, and the entirety of the rest of Aperture Science. Success? :S Unsure how to deal with this or the possible murder charges Grady goes into witness protection and for once does us the same favour. Our names are changed but we get to keep our job. To close us out Cave Johnson's giant head (now in the basement with a pile of our discarded toilets) sings a song, as you do. The end?
