With Dragon Ball Daima, the final anime project featuring heavy Toriyama involvement, finished, a lot of people are just confused. Including me. You see, I thought from the moment Daima was announced and Toriyama’s extreme involvement was made clear - that this was a canon Dragon Ball story. I even said so on multiple occasions and to be clear when I say canon I mean connected to the events of Dragon Ball Super - which is as of now considered the main continuity for Dragon Ball.
