The Underdog vs. The Edgier Alternative - Kirblog 5/30/17
129Following up from this past weekend's topic (and thanks to all your feedback), this week's Kirblog is a sequel to the discussion of, not iconic lead characters, but their "edgier" counterparts and the differences between what constitutes as an "underdog", be it in the form a hero or a rival. This is actually a topic I've been thinking about doing for several years and finally found an appropriate time to do it! Though Shonen series seem to be the most consistent examples given, I run through a few other characters and how fans' perception of them has affected their popularity. Like before, I'm eager to hear your responses and suggestions of characters you think fit this description, to take a listen and lemme know your thoughts!
