With the introduction of its text-to-image AI algorithms, Google is taking considerable caution. The system is not yet open to the general public, according to the business. Google hasn't made the company's Imagen model accessible to the general public, despite the fact that it generates output on par with OpenAI's DALL-E 2 or Stability AI's Stable Diffusion. Today, however, the search giant announced it will be adding Imagen — in a very limited form — to its AI Test Kitchen app as a way to gather early feedback on the technology.

Google created AI Test Kitchen earlier this year as a method to beta test different AI algorithms. "City Dreamer" and "Wobble" are the two main ways users can interact with Imagen, which Google demonstrated to The Verge ahead of the announcement today. In City Dreamer, users can instruct the model to create city elements based on a theme of their choice, such as pumpkins, denim, or the colour blerg.
