The voice of Mario retires from the role
Charles Martinet has been the voice of Mario for the past 27 years, all the way back to Super Mario 64, but he’s now officially retiring from the role.
According to a tweet from Nintendo, Martinet will be moving on to the new role of Mario Ambassador, where he’ll continue to travel the world sharing the joy of Mario and interacting with fans.
Nintendo said that a video message from Shigeru Miyamoto and Martinet will be coming in the future, but haven’t yet announced who will take over as the new voice of Mario.
