The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has taken AMC's zombie universe far from its Georgia roots. Taking Norman Reedus' crossbow-wielding Daryl Dixon on an odyssey across Europe, which first sent Daryl to post-apocalyptic France, has since expanded its scope and is set to explore the post-apocalyptic setting of Spain in Seasons 3 and 4, shifting the series into Spaghetti Western territory. The series also explores a deepened bond with Melissa McBride's Carol, a friendship that has seen a lot since the characters were first brought together in Season 1 of The Walking Dead. As Season 4 will be the last of the series, fans can expect an intense two seasons to finish out the story.

In Collider's Interview Studio at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Steve Weintraub sat down with Reedus, McBride, Scott Gimple, Greg Nicotero, and showrunner David Zabel to talk about the series' evolution, the cinematic influences the new setting for Season 3 provided, and what's next for these iconic characters. Reedus shares why he feels the European arc of Daryl Dixon's story feels like a return to the original magic of The Walking Dead, while both the cast and creative team discuss what it's like to face the end of this chapter for Daryl and Carol.
