In this video, we will be taking a look at the complete story of the Warring Triad, a series of trials introduced as patches for the Heavensward expansion, each one featuring a battle with a legendary eikon. Like many things in Final Fantasy XIV, the Warring triad is based on something from the franchises rich history and in this case they are based on three gods from Final Fantasy VI, which were also referred to as the warring triad, or Santoushin (三闘神), the three warring gods, each one keeping the others in check. Visually they were designed by Tetsuya Nomura and it's great to see those same designs making a return here, even though their backstory has of course been updated to fit the lore of Final Fantasy XIV. If you’re like me, however, you might not have been paying enough attention to fully grasp the story or the lore, so this video is for me, and you, and the Final Fantasy XIV community at large, so that we can continue to enjoy and celebrate the many tales the game has to tell.
