927On board one of the Royal Navy's Type 45 destroyers, it is the role of the Principal Warfare Officer to make key strategic decisions and take the ship into action.
The Daring class warships, like HMS Diamond who is currently deployed in the Red Sea where she has been shooting down Houthi drones, are purpose-built for anti-aircraft and anti-missile combat.
But they can also bombard targets on land and can even tackle lose-range surface threats.
