The Witcher 3 - Skellige Ice Giant for Quest: The Lord of Undvik on NG+ Death March

This guy is not easy. Most of you will probably take a few tries to down him, it took me 3 tries just to down him and another to get a good clean kill for my channel. He hits like a Mack Truck, especially when he grabs the anchor and swings away. In other words, Quen and dodging are your friend. There are many boss fights where an all out offensive can negate the need for Quen. This is not one of them.

Go in prepared. Before you enter the cave. Oils, potions, decoctions. Anything to maximize your sword dps. Wraith Decoction is suggested. I didn't use it to save my toxicity for potions, but those with Acquired Tolerance may want to give that decoction a try. Bombs have little to no effect. Unless you have high sign intensity, signs have little effect. Just have to find the windows of opportunity to get some hits in, and back away when he starts swinging.
