The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Let's Play - Part 34

This is Part 34 of the series. In this part, we continue heading towards a military blockade in southeastern Velen. This turns out to be a Nilgaard military camp.
We encounter a guard who reminds us of a woman we tried to save earlier during our playthrough, but are also scorned as well. We then buy some alchemy ingredients from a merchant, and speak to a sad mother who is looking for her son, triggering a new side quest, "Blood Ties."
We speak with the Nilfgaardian quartermaster, and find out some unsettling news about the sad mother's child. We then challenge him to a round of Gwent, and ask about a contract he posted about a missing patrol. We learn more about the mother's son, and return to her to give her a letter the son left behind.
We go in search of the missing patrol, find some witcher gear, encounter and battle a fiend, and continue our search for the patrol. Upon finding bodies Geralt encounters a Wyvern. After claiming it's trophy, we return to the Nilfgaardian quartermaster and complete the contract, "Patrol Gone Missing."
