Continuing his journey through the heart of Velen, Geralt visited the village of Lindenvale, where an elderly woman begged for his help reclaiming her ancestral home now overrun by a monster. In exchange, she offered him the key to her family’s hidden fortune. Inside the manor, however, Geralt uncovered a chilling secret: the body of her brother, Humbert, bricked into the walls, a victim of betrayal by her first husband. Geralt delivered the painful truth, but with it, freed the woman to reclaim her home at last.
Before leaving Lindenvale, Geralt also answered a call from the village gravedigger: children were disappearing near the cemetery, snatched by unseen horrors. Geralt uncovered the culprit a terrifying grave hag, and dispatched the monster, collecting his reward and restoring peace to the fearful village.
Another day’s work for a witcher: beasts slain, secrets unearthed, and the weight of other people’s tragedies carried forward.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the groundbreaking installment in CD PROJEKT RED’s acclaimed series following the legendary witcher, Geralt of Rivia. After multiple delays, the game was officially released on May 19, 2015, and made an immediate impact. Selling over 4 million copies in just two weeks, more than doubling the total sales of its predecessor, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.
Unlike the previous entries, The Witcher 3 takes place in a sprawling multi-region open world, offering over 100 hours of content across dynamic landscapes. Inspired by the scale of games like Skyrim but over 20% larger the developers aimed to refine the open-world experience by learning from industry benchmarks while addressing their shortcomings.
