Having successfully made it to 104 and survived the Reaper attack, Neku and Shiki suddenly wake up in a different location, to a similar situation of strange text messages and magic hand-timers. Tasked with setting a "cursed sculpture" free, the two gather some (or a lot) of information and set out.
Through a misunderstanding, the two finally are no longer alone with themselves, with the appearance of two more Players by the name of Beat and Rhyme. For once, the two had a little help...Keyword there being "had".

- Timer's appear upon receiving missions, and somewhat obviously, count down how much time is remaining to complete it. If the timer ever runs out, then the Player will be erased...Or maybe not? Beat and Rhyme claim that they did not complete yesterday's mission because they were suddenly attacked, yet their timer's still disappeared.
- Some walls are attended to by strange men, who definitely play roles in whether or not they can be opened. This time we got through by erasing Noise...
- Reaper's and other Players cannot be scanned with the Player Pin. Implicitly, Players are then marked as such by both their Player Pins, and mission timers.
