The World Ends With You Part 7. Fusion Dance This Ain't.
We begin this video with a giant exposition flashback by Hanekoma, who explains several aspects of the game to us, and gives us a helping gift!
With that, the game unlocks another mechanic: Fusion attacks and Shiki's ESP cards. It's quite handy in a pinch, and can really make a difference in battle, so I highly recommend you get used to using it.
We also unlock shops, in which we can buy equipment in the form of clothing. Each clothing has a bravery requirement, which a character must meet before they can wear it. Besides stat boosts, each piece of equipment has a passive ability attached to it as well, but it must be unlocked first. This is done by leveling up the friendship gauge with a shop clerk, done so by buying more things. As you get closer to a particular clerk, they will tell you about more things, or sell you harder to find items, Handy stuff!
Anyways, Neku and Shiki continue through the city and even manage to find the technician! There's a problem however...he's having drama queen issues right now. We're gonna have to do something about that! But what?...
And with that, the first batch of videos is finished. As of this uploading, I have not currently even recorded the second batch, I still have not finished my desired level of grinding. I am close however, and hope to record more soon, however I am now back in school and thus my free time will likely degrade fast. Still, I will continue to work on videos, just expect a slower upload speed, especially once the semester hits full force. In the meantime, look forward to some supplemental videos set to come out soon, and I'll see you guys then!
New Rules
-----
- Players both win and lose missions altogether. One pair of Players completing a mission clears it for all Players still alive in the Game, however likewise if the timer runs out then all Players are erased as well.
- Hanekoma tells us that Players are graded for their performances during missions, and seems sure that the incentive to do well is pretty great.
- There are two kinds of Reapers: Harriers and Support. Support Reapers stand by the walls and hand out objectives to Players to pass through. Essentially, they indirectly hinder the Players by causing them to expend too much time to clear the mission, or to cause them to mess up and get themselves erased. Harriers on the other hand (like our pink-haired attacker) take more proactive roles in actively harassing Players by summoning and attacking them with Noise.
- Reapers must amass points by doing their respective jobs and erasing Players. If they do not, or do not do so well enough, then the Reaper themself is erased.
- The Reapers' game takes place on what is known as the UG, or the underground. This is different from the rest of the world, which resides in the RG or realground. Most beings in the RG cannot see the UG, and thusly, normal people cannot actually see or hear anything going on in The Reapers' game, which is why they have not been reacting to us. The game doesn't actually tell us that in this video, rather I accidentally sequence break and reveal it too soon. But it is indeed a thing.
- Shops decaled with the Player logo, are enterable by Players who become visible and allowed to shop.
