The Xbox Series S has found its way into the news recently for all the wrong reasons, as developers from Rocksteady (Arkham Knight, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League) and Bossa Studios (Surgeon Simulator) added to complaints raised during other game releases like Dying Light 2, A Plague Tale Requiem and Control: Ultimate Edition which claimed the Xbox Series S was holding back the new generation. Despite more powerful consoles existing, the weakest link is always a problem for developers, which means that in some ways the Xbox Series S will be responsible for next generation games being less impressive than they may have been (and less reflective of their high price points). Only by the end of the generation will we see just how big this problem becomes, or if it can be avoided by clever workarounds.
