One of my absolute favorite games of all time, Super Metroid was the game that got me into Metroid. But up until very recently, it cast a huge shadow on everything else I played in the series and the genre. Nothing still has recaptured this game's magic, and I don't think anything will. Now that I realize that, I can appreciate other games for what they are, but I'd give a lot to experience something like this game again.
Did this one in MMC5 to match the four other Super Metroid covers on my channel. It's a long-standing tradition for me to use that expansion for this game, even if it started with a super old and super bad cover of Upper Brinstar. I'm pretty proud of how much I got out of this kinda limited chip. For the second loop of the chorus, I tried my own thing with a big full three-part harmonization which was fun. That melody is just insanely good and I'd like to see it return.
