So, contrary to my previous belief, this bug doesn't seem to be patched out of the game - it's just only available during specific segments of the storyline. Either way, I managed to find the footage of Pat-Pat summoning the Map Bot - truly an unfortunate alliance if ever there was one. Possibly the funniest thing is the fact that I seem to have mistaken a few S.T.A.F.F. robots for my nemesis the Map Robot... I should have been able to tell by the lack of boss music.
