There Will Be Blocks is my first ever completed Minecraft animation project using Mine-imator. Inspired by the Paul Thomas Anderson film "There Will Be Blood", There Will Be Blocks is a reimagining of that film's trailer, translating some of the visuals and giving Daniel Plainview's pitch to the people of Little Boston a Minecraft spin!

Given that this is my first real attempt at an animated Minecraft video, I am aware that it's rough around the edges but I hope that creating short, simple pieces like this will be the practice I need to improve and make more complex animations.

All of your support and constructive criticism is greatly appreciated, and any encouragement to do more of these (or requests for specific movies, etc.) is very welcomed! Ideas, people!

The Daniel Plainview Minecraft skin was a customized version of one I found online, but could not find a name to give a proper "inspired by" credit for.


Dialogue:

Ladies and gentlemen... I've traveled over half our seed to be here tonight. I couldn't get away sooner because my new mine was coming in at Extreme Hills and I had to see about it. I like to think of myself as an oreman; that mine is now flowing at two thousand blocks and it's paying me an income of five thousand diamonds a week. I have two others digging and I have sixteen producing at a mesa; so, ladies and gentlemen, if I say I'm an ore man, you will agree. Now, you have a great chance here, but bear in mind, you can lose it all if you're not careful.

This is... the way that this works. I do my own digging, and the builders that work for me work for me. And they're players I know. I make it my business to be there and to see their work. I don't lose my tools in lava or spend days fishing for loot; I don't botch the crafting recipes and ruin the whole build.

I'm a family man. I run a family business. This is my son and my partner H.W., I'm fixed like no other company in this field and that's because my Extreme Hills mine has just come in. I have a string of tools all ready to put to work. I can load a rig onto carts and have them here in a week. I have business connections so I can get the planks for the derrick - such things go by friendship in a rush like this - and this is why I can guarantee to start mining and to put up the gold to back my word. I assure you, ladies and gentlemen, no matter what the others promise to do, when it comes to the hardcore challenge, they won't be there.
