TheSynthScreamCollective - Static Dreams
Lex stands alone beneath the dim lights of a forgotten train station, the night heavy with silence. He’s wearing only a sweat-stained tank top and dirt-caked jeans, muscles tense, eyes fixed on the horizon where the tracks vanish into darkness. The world thinks he’s a killer. Headlines scream his name. But the truth runs deeper than blood.
The man Lex executed wasn’t just anyone. He was once a friend, a brother in arms. They’d survived hell together, bled side by side. Until greed, fear, or something darker made him turn. Left Lex for dead in a crumbling warehouse outside the city, bleeding and broken, while he vanished into the shadows with everything they’d fought for.
But Lex didn’t die.
He crawled out of that grave, fury in his veins and a promise burning in his chest. He found the traitor. And when it was done, when the man’s last breath was spent. Lex didn’t run out of guilt. He ran because he knew the system wouldn’t care about the betrayal, only the body.
Now, he waits for a train he’s not even sure will come. A ride back to the place he once called home. If it still exists. If he still belongs there. The night is quiet, but Lex knows better. The past always echoes louder the closer you get to the end of the tracks.
