Although it's still very much a work in progress, the Windows-based DarkXL mod already has some of the functions of enhanced source ports for Doom like ZDoom and Doom Legacy; including full mouse look, 3D card support and much higher resolutions than the original DOS release (technically, though, DarkXL is not a source port since the original game's source code has never been made publicly available by the developer).
DarkXL is currently in Alpha and it's definitely a bit rough around the edges - for example, the 3D acceleration is very slow and I found no way to turn down the awfully loud music. That said, I'm very much looking forward to seeing new releases of this promising mod. Future additions to the mod/remake will apparently include both a built-in level editor and multiplayer support.
