2there's a subculture of hunt players who seem to describe all stealth play as "ratting," which is to say, sneaking around like a rat. this is a pejorative term within the community. this could include cases where a player just sits in scope and waits for enemies to run across open areas like railroad tracks, or camping a lair for 20 minutes without moving. but other players also seem to include ambushes, like seen in this video.
simply put, if you hit multiple noise-makers within the first few minutes of the round, you deserve to be ambushed. and, ambushing is a far more interesting combat mechanic than strafing back and forth and fishing for headshots with officer carbine.
it's the large, complex, asymmetrical map design that makes this game interesting and unique from a PvP perspective, not the shooting. using the map properly includes performing ambushes, and defending against them.
