This Ain't D&D: Tactics + Strategies for Pathfinder 2e, Part 1 (Basic/Skill Actions)
Here we look at the notorious difficulty of Pathfinder 2e fights and cover general strategies, Basic Actions, and Skill Actions that ALL characters can use to overcome them. In a 2nd video, we will look at many of these same concepts with higher-level characters who have more Feats.

CORRECTIONS: The wizard normally would need 1 action to Interact and take out his scroll. Valeros' knock-out at 40:55 should've moved him to right before the scorpion in initiative; it has no effect here because he Delays anyway. Goblin Song would not have worked against the scorpion, since it is a singing Performance and therefore has the linguistic trait, and there's no shared language. (Makes sense!) Also, Create a Diversion either involves words (auditory + linguistic traits), or doing a "trick" (manipulate trait). Because Merisiel didn't share a language with the scorpion, she could only try to Create a Diversion (standing where she was) by provoking the scorpion's Attack of Opportunity. (AoO's are nasty!)
ADDITIONS: Actions with the attack trait, such as Trip, Grapple, Shove, and Disarm, are subject to and contribute to the Multiple Attack Penalty. (This makes Assurance: Athletics a great skill feat to take!, because you can use Athletics while ignoring all bonuses that aren't your proficiency bonus and all penalties.) Also, by default creatures do not get reactions before their 1st turn. However, the rules state that the GM can allow a creature to get one. Here, since the two sides were aware of each other and the scorpion was prepared to fight before Merisiel initiated combat, as the GM I think I would've allowed the scorpion to use AoO against Merisiel.
