This Game is Literally Just Mario Bros. - Let's Play Everspace Episode 2
0In this episode of Let's Play Everspace, Owen Quillion discovers a mystery, does a Mario skip, and breezes through two sectors with onl a minimum of warcrimes.
Everspace is a Roguelike with the core gameplay mechanic being 3D space dogfights with six degrees of freedom, in the vein of Wing Commander or Freespace. It is made and published by Rockfish Games, and is their first PC game after their successful space trading Galaxy on Fire series on mobile.
This Let's Play of Everspace started when I picked it up in the Steam sale, and I do not regret it despite not having realized exactly what it was. Everspace combines the time and resource management of Roguelike gameplay with action-packed dogfights (which you will see plenty of in this Let's Play) and tight maneuvering with six degrees of freedom. While I won't be featuring it in Let's Play Everspace, there is an actually competent story as well; not something I would recommend buying Everspace for, but a very pleasant surprise for those interested in Roguelikes or space combat sims.
