As of writing this it is still unclear why the servers opened back up. But I ain't complaining, Evolve was the first big attempt at an asymmetrical 1v4 type game (like Dead By Daylight). Only to succumb to (at the time) predatory monetisation, lack of balance updates and support from the devs.
I believe if it would relaunch in the market of today, with proper support, this game could thrive.
Even 7 years later, this game still holds up.
