This Is Cyberpunk 2077 Running On An RTX 4090: 4K, 120fps, Ray-Tracing | Techno Gamerz vs PK Gamerz
The RTX 4090 is here, and it’s producing performance increases so large on many games, you may want to consider taking out a second mortgage to actually buy one.
The new graphics card is a monster, and I had to see for my own eyes what it was actually capable of to get what all the fuss was about. The best example I saw of this so far is Cyberpunk 2077 running on an RTX 4090 with DLSS 3, which results in 4K gameplay at 120 fps with ray-tracing. In short, performance like the already great-looking game on PC has never experienced before.
The video below is from Parris, and since my monitor here is not actually 4K capable, I had to play it on my 4K TV to really get the full experience. Without question, it’s easy the best Cyberpunk 2077 has already looked, a rare game these days that was designed to test maxed out PCs, and now, cutting edge graphics cards, it seems.
While I am able to run Cyberpunk 2077 on psycho settings with ray tracing on my current PC, this level of performance is still above anything I’ve ever seen from the game on PC, and certainly the new-gen console updates which the 4090 looks to leave in the dust. The thing is $1600, and arguably a better investment than Meta’s new $1500 Oculus Pro headset it debuted yesterday, albeit an entirely different animal. And still out of most people’s price range.
This is of course an old pattern where a new graphics card debuts at a sky-high price and everyone wonders if it’s actually worth it. For most people, it won’t be, but the 4090 does seem like it’s putting out a performance jump that’s well beyond past generational leaps between cards.
Still, it’s only going to be for the hardest core gamers, the ones with the most cash or at least, the biggest budget allocated toward maxing out their gaming. For me who again, hasn’t even gotten a 4K monitor yet, it’s not going to be worth the cost. But you can see what it’s doing here, and the vibe I kept getting with this Cyberpunk footage is like one of those E3 trailers that looks too good to be true and you know the final product won’t look like that. But this is the final product (after two years of performance patches that have helped Cyberpunk get here) with its full potential unlocked by the 4090. It’s pretty wild to see.
