This Is One Of The Best Flatscreen To VR Conversions I've Ever Seen
After months of desperately trying to get this game to work with Praydog's VR mod,I've finally figured it out....for me,the wait and nonstop effort was well worth it,this VR port looks simply breathtaking...from the full stereoscopic 3D visuals and cinematics,to the color palette and vibrancy,I was in sheer awe when I finally managed to boot it up...If anyone is having trouble, what helped me to get this up and running was firstly, going into the Nvidia Control Panel and changing the color settings to as follows: output color depth to 8 bpc, color format to yCbCr422 and changing the dynamic range to limited...this also worked for Resident Evil 3,as I also had trouble getting that game to run with the VR mod...what I also did with DMC 5 was changing the API to Direct X11(I had it on 12 and didn't even know it and had no idea how to change it to 11,as there wasn't an option in the game's graphics settings smh) I managed to change it to Direct X11 by changing the API in the dmc5config.ini file...finding it is very simple,it's located in your game's main folder where the .exe is...As an extra piece of advice, make sure you run Steam VR first and change the API to Steam VR's...last but not least,if anyone is having issues getting their gamepad to work via bluetooth, what worked for me is waiting till the DMC Title screen showed up and THEN turning on your game controller, make sure you do it after clicking onto the actual game's screen so your PC doesn't think your not in game etc...also try doing that by temporarily lifting up your HMD...anyways,so yeah, through trial and error not to mention many sleepless nights and raging....lol I got this gem of a game to work,if anyone has any issues, feel free to ask and I 'll try my best to help....anyhow,enjoy the video:-) Oh before I forget, adjusting these settings in RE2,RE3,DMC5,RE7 and Village helped alot with a smoother framerate:
- FPS, gets forced to "Variable" (uncapped)
- Antialiasing, gets forced to "None" if using any TAA variant. You should either use MSAA or FXAA if you want AA.
- Motion Blur, gets forced to "Off"
- VSync, gets forced to "Off"
- Lens Distortion, gets forced to "Off"
- Lens Flares, gets forced to "Off"
- Volumetric Lighting, gets forced to "Off"
- Screen space reflections sometimes have issues and you might want these off
- Film grain should be off
Reading this guide helped me alot and is where I got these settings from:
