Sometimes the best VR games are the most simple and RUNNER VR, a brand new Quest 2 game, is the best kind of simplistic VR arcade shooter FUN! In RUNNER you take on the role of a half cybernetic VR anime character who's only mission is to race their futuristic motorbike as fast as they can whilst shooting and destroying every enemy that stands in their way, it plays like a classic arcade shooter with modern day VR systems (think Super Hang-On meets Road Rash with a dash of Space Harrier). After a month of large scale new VR games and big profile releases (Half Life 2 VR, Bonelab, NFL Pro Era etc...) it feels great to kick October off with a game like this, it's pure pick up and play fun with a gorgeous art style and uncomplicated premise... which is exactly what VR arcade shooters should be!

Fans looking for a VR anime game on Quest 2 or perhaps those looking for the closest thing to AKIRA VR (it's clear RUNNER VR took huge inspiration from the motorbike scene in AKIRA) then you should really check this one out, it might not be the deepest experience but it's easy to grasp, the visuals are gorgeous, the music is fantastic and the arcade action will keep you returning for more. This new Quest 2 game is a great start to October 2022.
