This NEW VR Game Pushes Quest 3 to the LIMIT! // Wanderer The Fragments of Fate Quest 3 Gameplay
544Wanderer The Fragments of Fate pushes the Quest 3 to it's absolute limit with large complex environments filled with intricate puzzles to solve, secrets to discover and... enemies to fight?! Is this the Half Life Alyx style adventure that standalone Quest players have been waiting for? Or does the new version of Wanderer struggle to juggle all of it's new tricks, systems and surprises on Meta's standalone VR platform?
The original Wanderer VR game was a fantastic story driven VR puzzle adventure game that focused entirely on challenging the players brain with complex interconnected escape rooms but the NEW version, Wanderer The Fragments of Fate, feels like much more of a conventional VR action adventure game complete with combat, large sections of traversal and even stealth sections. These changes will definitely attract a larger audience to Fragments of Fate but Wanderer is still at it's best when you're puzzle solving and time travelling across varied and exciting locations, this is where the game can really shines and it leaves the combat, at least in this early Quest 3 build, feeling underwhelming and janky. Wanderer The Fragments of Fate is a fantastic looking game on Quest 3 but also a slightly inconsistent one, indoors areas and objects you can interact with all look brilliant with high resolution textures and plenty of detail but some outdoors areas & character models leave much to be desired. At times I could feel the Quest 3 struggling to run Wanderer The Fragments of Fate, new areas often caused the game to lag or stutter as it loaded in new assets and the frame rate didn't particularly consistent in the larger outdoors areas however with a little additional polish (which the final build will hopefully have) this could be one of the most ambitious Quest 3 titles to date and one that everyone should try.
This Wanderer The Fragments of Fate Quest 3 gameplay / Wanderer Quest 3 gameplay was captured from a pre-release build of the game and does not represent the final launch version of the game. Visual issues, performance problems and other bug fixing may be available when Wanderer The Fragments of Fate launches for PSVR2, PCVR and Quest 3 on 27th of March.
