Recently, more and more users have complained about changing their Omnibox search engine on Google Chrome. The problem is that when they tried to reset it, the setting was greyed out and they were stuck with the unwanted alternative of the search engine.
When they clicked on Manage Search Engines, there was an icon next to the unwanted machine with the message “This setting is applied by your administrator”. The reasons may vary, but the installation of malware or intrusive advertising should generally be important.
