It's not that complex a junction, it really isn't. In order to set up the chemical plant my aim is to bring in all resources by train (apart from the resources I don't bring in by train) and that means a brand new rail junction near my main trading border. In situations like this I either shoot from the hip or tend to overthink the problem. This is probably the latter with the results of the former.
